What is SCENAR?

Our health relies on the continuous exchange of information between the brain and the rest of the body, through the nervous system. All healthy body functions are interrelated and work in harmony with each other. But problems develop when stress, injury, or disease disrupt the healthy neural communication necessary for optimal health. The body does its best to adapt to a bad situation, but the physical dysfunction can limit or prevent a natural, healthy, adaptive response. Over time, the body’s ability to adapt can result in an uncomfortable – but more or less “stable” – state, where the body is so used to the injury or physical dysfunction that it incorrectly interprets it as “normal.”

SCENAR (Self Controlled Energo Neuro Adaptive Regulator) is a medical technology originally developed for the Russian space program. Completely non-invasive, SCENAR delivers gentle, therapeutic electro-stimulation, onto and through the skin, to prompt the body’s natural adaptive response for the relief of acute and chronic pain and physical dysfunction. SCENAR treatment is a form of “reflex biofeedback,” which involves detecting and interpreting the internal neural communication within the body, then helps the body correctly evaluate an injury or other problem area.

The SCENAR device sends out a series of electrical signals through the skin and measures the response. Each signal is only sent out when a change, in response to the previous signal, is recorded in the electrical properties of the skin. SCENAR treatment acts as a catalyst to prompt the body to produce the right healthy chemicals (called “regulatory peptides”) it needs. These peptides reestablish the body's natural physiological state and are responsible for the healing process. As these peptides last up to several hours, the healing process will continue long after the treatment is over.
